Strengthening Collaboration for Education and Resilient Civil Society

We are proud to share that Fredy Oxom, Executive Director of the Q’eqchi’ Association Xch’ool Ixim (Heart of Corn), participated as a panelist in the workshop “Strengthening Collaboration to Sustain Civil Society in Education,” held during the Central American Donors Forum (CADF 2025) in Guatemala City on October 6–7, 2025.

The panel brought together representatives from the Tinker Foundation, Luis von Ahn Foundation, Tierra Nueva ONG, and members of the International Education Funders Group, including the Fabretto Children’s Foundation and the Global Fund for Children. Together, participants explored opportunities and challenges to strengthen purposeful and resilient collaborations in education and civil society.

Xch’ool Ixim extends its heartfelt thanks to its donors and partners for making this space possible. We also recognize the participation of Ava Berinstein, our Director of Development and Linguistic Advisor, who contributed to the discussions.

We are deeply proud to have built new connections and reaffirmed our shared commitment to advancing equitable, community-led education rooted in identity, collaboration, and respect.
